  Barbara was born in Insch in1897 There she attended school and later trained at Burnetts Business College in Aberdeen Until her marriage she worked as a typist for Hall, Russell and Co shipbuilders In 1918 she married Francis Davidson Emslie in Aberdeen and they lived with his father in Haydon Road Frank apprenticed with the engineering firm of George Cassie and Son spending 44 years in their employ except for 2 years with the Royal Artillery during WW1 His trade was machinist /fitter After retirement he worked as a courier for a lawyer staying on in Hayton Road before moving to Helmsdale in the North of Scotland After Frasnk died in 1974 Barbara remained in Helmsdale before moving to Colchester in England to stay with her son Frank and in 1983 she emigrated to Canada living with her daughter Barbara and son- in- law Hugh McLoud in Cereal AB She died in 1992 and in accordance with her wishes her ashes were taken to Scotland and buried with her husband in Helmsdale They had three children Frank Charlotte and Barbara
