  Eldest son of William Tocher and Barbara Shand Greive at Knockiemill Near Turriff Had his own business as carter Carted much of the stone for the clock tower being added to the kirk at Auchterless in the late 1890s This is the link to the Howie family,his wife Janet is sister to William Howie who married Christian Jaffray
